Medical Exams

Here’s what to expect

The morning of the executive physical, our lab technician will visit you at your room at your hotel prior to breakfast to draw blood and collect a urine sample that will be used in a wide array of screenings. After breakfast, you'll be chauffeured from your hotel and greeted at the front door of our medical facility, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, and our concierge staff will escort you to the Garden West level of the hospital, where your privacy is our top concern. If you prefer to drive or if you live locally, our concierge staff will greet you at the front door of our medical facility and escort you to your destination, where our lab technician will draw your blood and collect a urine sample. Then your physician will sit down with you to discuss your medical history and any special concerns or questions you may have.

The program is the first executive health program in Northern California to add new screenings for:

  • Alzheimer’s
Dr. Geiler and his team are the first in Northern California to offer this advanced screening through an Executive Exam program. Dr. Geiler and his team administer ablood test for Alzheimer’s disease that predicts with astonishing accuracy whether a healthy person will develop the disease.
  • General dementia
  • Lung cancer
There is evidence that screening persons aged 55 to 74 years who have cigarette smoking histories of 30 or more pack-years and who, if they are former smokers, have quit within the last 15 years reduces lung cancer mortality by 20% and all-cause mortality by 6.7%.
  • Diabetes early markers

An in-depth personal consultation meeting with your physician will complete the day. All the information that was gathered during this extensive daylong evaluation will be reviewed with you, to give you a solid understanding of your current state of health, and a prescription for wellness including recommendations for diet and exercise. You will leave with a preliminary plan of action, which will be followed by a detailed report, including images, about two weeks after your executive physical.

Our staff will follow up with you to ensure you have all the essential tools and/or referrals you need to fully engage in healthy behaviors, reduce stress, prevent future medical concerns, and/or address medical issues uncovered during the executive physical.

Your physician and other medical team members, who understand your complete medical picture, will be committed partners in your long-term health. We are here for you for regular annual examinations. Your first executive physical will be used as a baseline for our medical team, who will tailor subsequent exams to best meet your individual health issues and personal goals.
